Clear Aligners

Imagine smiling for pictures without feeling self-conscious or anxious. Think about speaking and laughing without a second thought about the gaps in your teeth. If this sounds too good to be true, clear aligners may be able to make your dreams a reality.

Clear aligners offer a subtle way for those who qualify to transform their smiles without brackets, wires, or traditional braces. Many of our patients tell us that this treatment is a comfortable and convenient way to achieve the smile they've always wanted.

Will Clear Aligners Work for Your Smile?

If you’re a teenager or adult with mild to moderate orthodontic concerns, we can perform an evaluation to determine if clear aligner therapy can give you the straighter, healthier smile you want.

Instead of traditional braces, clear aligners are customised to fit over your teeth. You’ll wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours each day, removing them only to eat, brush and floss.

Clear aligners can correct the following dental issues for patients who qualify:

  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Crossbite
  • Open bite
  • Gapped teeth
  • Crooked teeth
  • Crowded teeth

Why Choose Clear Aligners Over Braces?

Choosing clear aligners has numerous advantages over traditional braces, making them a popular choice for teens and adults. You’ll achieve straighter teeth and be able to maintain good dental hygiene habits. Some of the benefits of clear aligner therapy include the following:

Discretion

Clear aligners are made from clear plastic that fits snugly over your teeth, making them nearly indiscernible.

Comfort

Clear aligners are smooth, pliable and comfortable, and have no metal or wires to poke into your lips and gums.

Convenience

Clear aligners can be removed when it’s time to eat, brush, and floss your teeth, allowing you to enjoy your favourite foods.

What to Expect from the Clear Aligner Process

When you arrange an orthodontic consultation at A Plus Dental, we’ll listen to your concerns about your smile and guide you on your journey to a better smile.

Here’s what you can expect from the process:

  • Consultation and digital scan — The first step involves taking digital scans to assess your orthodontic concerns and determine if clear aligners will work for your smile.
  • Customised treatment plan — If you qualify, we'll use our advanced software to create your treatment plan and show you a preview of your expected results.
  • Aligner fitting — Once your aligners are created, we’ll show you how to wear them and explain your treatment timeline. You’ll switch to a new set of aligners every 1–2 weeks.
  • Periodic visits — We’ll check your progress periodically to ensure your treatment is on track. If you have questions or concerns, you're welcome to call us.
  • Retainers — Once your treatment is complete, we'll instruct you to wear a retainer to keep your teeth from shifting back to their original position. This, and conscientious oral care, will help keep your smile looking its best.

Please note: Treatment timelines depend on patient suitability and clinical needs. Our dentists will confirm your expected treatment timeframe.

Life with Invisalign®: Tips for Comfortable Treatment

Invisalign, like any oral appliance or orthodontic system, can take some getting used to. However, if you’re patient and follow a few practical tips, you’ll likely enjoy comfortable treatment with Invisalign.

Many patients prefer Invisalign because it’s user-friendly and offers the following benefits during treatment:

  • Smooth Plastic — This means no hard metal or wires to scratch oral tissues.
  • Removable Appliance — You can take out your aligners temporarily, so there's no eating restrictions and easier oral hygiene sessions.
  • Discreet Aligners — Feeling less anxious is a crucial part of achieving comfort for most patients. A virtually invisible ...
